Se estudió el comportamiento de la relación altura total-diámetro a la altura del pecho de árboles (relación hipsométrica) a partir de datos obtenidos en un ensayo de espaciamiento de Araucaria angustifolia a los 6, 8, 9, 11 y 19 años de edad. Se ajustó el modelo de Henriksen (h = bo + b1 xln (d)) a los datos obtenidos en cada una de las edades, evaluándose el ajuste a través de los estadísticos r2 y syx%, así como mediante el análisis gráfico del comportamiento de las curvas ajustadas frente a los datos observados. A pesar de que los valores del r2 resultaron relativamente bajos, las curvas ajustadas describieron adecuadamente la tendencia de los datos. Con el incremento de la edad de las plantas, se observó un desplazamiento hacia arriba y hacia la derecha de las curvas ajustadas, acompañado de un aumento de la pendiente. Behavior of relation between total height/breast height diameter (hypsometric function) was studied from data obtained on a densities essay of Araucaria angustifolia measured at 6, 8, 9, 11 and 19 years of age. Henriksen model (h = bo + b1 x ln(d)) was adjusted to each age data. The fitting was evaluated through the statistics r2 and syx%, complementing with a graphically evaluation of the behavior of the fitted curves in front of the observed data. Although the r2 values were relatively low, the curves represented an adequate description of the tendency of data, when they were graphically evaluated.
