It is important to take into account the location of the pipes at the time of execution of the work, as well as at the time of maintenance of the work and future extensions.
The main components in a network of medicinal gases are: Trunk or main network, Secondary or bypass network, Regulation station and Consumption station. Where the backbone network are the pipes that are located from the storage center to the second reduction central or sectioning valves of each secondary network. The secondary network is the pipe section from the sectioning valves to the consumption points. The Central of regulation is located in a strategic place in such a way to be able to regulate the pressure of the gas in question from the main network to the secondary network. The points of consumption correspond to the polyducts of the beds, roof turrets, wall boxes and there the equipment or accessories of use are coupled. |

Este trabajo presenta el método utilizado para realizar los cálculos y emplazamiento correspondientes para la distribución de gases medicinales tanto en troncal como en las derivaciones de cada sector de hospitales. El cálculo se procede en base a los requerimientos de los hospitales, los gases que son indispensables son el oxígeno, aire y vacío. En caso de ser necesario también se calculan las cañerías para óxido nitroso (N2O), nitrógeno, dióxido de carbono (CO2) y helio. Es importante tener en cuenta el emplazamiento de las cañerías a la hora de la ejecución de la obra, como así también a la hora del mantenimiento de la misma y las futuras ampliaciones. Los componentes principales en una red de gases medicinales son: Red Troncal o principal, Red secundaria o derivación, Estación de Regulación y Puesto de consumo. Donde la Red troncal son las cañerías que se ubican desde la central de almacenamiento hasta la central de segunda reducción o válvulas de seccionamiento de cada red secundaria. La red secundaria es el tramo de cañería desde las válvulas de seccionamiento hasta los puntos de consumo. La Central de regulación está ubicada en un lugar estratégico de tal forma de poder regular la presión del gas en cuestión desde la red principal a la red secundaria.
