Description
Summary:The decisions defined in the field of resistant structures have an impact on a considerable percentage of the global cost of social housing construction systems in general. In the case of the Province of Misiones, the usual systems made of hollow ceramic brick masonry (HCT) are evaluated, whose structural performance is not quantified in the local and regional environment. In order to obtain a better use of the materials and to achieve reduced costs, masonry enclosures are incorporated to the structural analysis, generating modifications in the paradigms established for the analysis of the stress states in resistant elements of the construction systems under study. The present work presents the characterization of the ceramic components of LCH masonry in the area of Misiones, Argentina. For this purpose, specimens of the ceramic used in the manufacture of bricks and also other specimens carved directly from LCH were tested. A descriptive statistics analysis was carried out and characteristic parameters were obtained to be used in structural analysis models by Finite Element Method (FEM). With these results it will be possible to apply optimization processes of these construction systems with reliability restrictions that allow minimizing the cost function of the system.
