El presente trabajo se realizó con el objetivo de evaluar metodologías para la conservación in vitro a corto plazo de germoplasma de té. Se utilizó el clon CH 14 INTA perteneciente al programa de mejoramiento de la EEA Cerro Azul – INTA. Se evaluaron dos métodos de conservación a corto/mediano plazo (bajas temperaturas y medios mínimos). Las bajas temperaturas permitieron la conservación de segmentos nodales y yemas axilares hasta un período de 5 meses, con 73% y 67% de supervivencia, respectivamente. El uso de medios mínimos tuvo como resultado una respuesta similar, en términos de supervivencia, con valores de entre 60 y 90%, hasta los 120 días. Los resultados de este trabajo permiten concluir que es posible la conservación de germoplasma de té, a corto/mediano plazo.
