Summary: | Lycengraulis grossidens (river anchovy) presents abundant records of larval stages in the reservoir of the Yacyreta Dam. The aim of this work is to characterize the different larval stages of this species morphometrically and meristelly, to increase the database size and facilitate the taxonomic identification. Samples were collected from three sampling stations: Ituzaingó, Garapé and Itatí, located in the province of Corrientes (Argentina) during September 2015 to February 2016. Three larval stages were recognized and basic orphometric and meristic measurements were taken. The meristic characters allow us to distinguish the different stages of this species, but not the morphometric characteristics, which are similar in the first stages. Data of the larval stages are scarce so this work would contribute to the existing database in Argentina.
