Summary: | The pollen rain analysis in Posadas city, Province of Misiones, Argentina, corresponding to the year 1994 is given. The monitoring has been performed fortnightly using a Tauber type gravitational trap situated in downtown Posadas city, at six meters above the ground. Identified pollen types with annual relative frequencies and the pollen calendar are presented. Thirty-one pollen types have been identified. They are representative of the surrounding vegetation (parks, squares, gardens, unused lands, etc.) and are grouped as tree –shrubs and herbs. Tree – shrubs have pollen peaks in Winter, Spring and Summer. Those related to Winter are due to the influence of Myrtaceae, Pinaceae y Platanaceae. Those related to Spring to Cecropia spp. y Celtis spp. ,Morus alba y Platanaceae. Those to Summer to Arecaceae, Cecropia spp., Trema micrantha. Herbs present a more uniform annual rhythm, although their frequency increases during Autumn under the influence of Asteraceae and Poaceae.
