description Cordia trichotoma, (Vell.) Johns, “Peteriby”, is a South American Borraginaceae, with feasible commercial application. The first part of this piece of research, a previous work, dealt with the study of the morphology and dimensions of the cell elements and their variation with age. In this second part, the study was focused on individual fiber morphology, all fibers as a statistical population as well as the relationship between fiber parameters. We were not able to identify the existence of two different statistical fiber populations, as previous works have claimed. This was made evident by the lack of more than one peak or any remarkable kurtosis in the qualitative frequency distribution analysis. The cell wall thickness increases are correlated positively with fiber width but not enough so as to keep the fiber flexibility coefficient constant. Accordingly, the wider the fiber, the higher the fiber flexibility coefficient. The fiber flexibility coefficient decreases in accordance with longer fibers. The fiber width is independent of fiber length.

The fiber width is independent of fiber length. Cordia trichotoma, (Vell.)
