description | Experiments were conducted to determine the levels of contamination of feed diets and feedstuffs for swine with Aflatoxins and Zearalenone. During a three-months period, 11 feedstuff samples and 5 samples of starter swine feed were obtained. The BF Method modified with toluene for two mycotoxins extraction was used. Determination and semiquantification of mycotoxins was carried out by TLC, spotting samples extracts and known concentration standards in silica-gel plates, which were later observed and confirmed under UV light. In starter swine feed, a mean of 16,8 ppb of Aflatoxins and 620 ppb of Zearalenone were found. The corn grains presented the highest values in contamination with both mycotoxins. The average of Aflatoxins was calculated in the whole feedstuffs and a value of 18 ppb was obtained, while the value for Zearalenone was 527 ppb. |

Se realizaron experiencias a fin de determinar los niveles de contaminación de alimentos balanceados y materia prima para la elaboración de raciones para cerdos con Aflatoxinas y Zearalenona. Se obtuvieron, en un período de tres meses, 11 muestras de materia prima y cinco muestras de raciones de tipo "Iniciador". Para la extracción de las dos micotoxinas, se utilizó el Método BF modificado con tolueno. La determinación y la semi-cuantificación de las micotoxinas se realizó mediante TLC, sembrando los extractos de las muestras y patrones de concentración conocida en placas de sílica-gel, que luego se observaron y confirmaron bajo luz UV. En las raciones se encontró Aflatoxinas con un valor medio de 16,8 ppb y de 620 ppb de Zearalenona. El maíz en grano presentó los valores más altos de contaminación con ambas micotoxinas.
