Description
Summary:Aromatic substances of hydro alcoholic pulping spent liquors were studied to understand sub products and physical properties behavior. Spent liquor was prepared to perform a qualitative chromatographic analysis. Eighteen substances were found in the spent liquor, and twelve passed to the distillated liquor. Not all peaks were identified. Four principal substances were found in the spent liquor: sinapaldehyde, coniferaldehyde, siringaldehyde and vanillin. Derived acids of the last two compounds also appeared, and p-hydroxibenzoic acid. Siringal-dehyde and vanillin were the substances mostly taken by the steam, but cinamic structure aldehydes were not found.
