Adherence was investigated on bfp gene. The detection of bfp was reduced on 22% of the strains with 1/2 and 1/8 MIC, and on 11% of the strains with 1/4 and 1/16 MIC. We did not observe relevant differences on the hemolysin poduction, motility reduction or phagocytosis reduction on any of the studied strains. In view of these results, it could be important to continue with this kind of studies in order to optimize simple therapeutic schemes for the treatment of uncomplicated infections, reducing the adverse reactions of some drugs on the host. En este estudio, investigamos la influencia de concentraciones subinhibitorias de ciprofloxacina sobre factores de virulencia de Escherichia coli enteropatógeno (ECEP) como la movilidad, adherencia, producci´ón de hemolisinas y la interacción con algunos mecanismos de defensa del huésped (fagocitosis). La adherencia se investigó sobre el gen bfp. La detección de bfp disminuyo un 22% de las cepas con 1/2 y 1/8 de CIM, y en 11% de las cepas con 1/4 y 1/16 de CIM. No observamos diferencias significativas en la producción de hemolisinas, reducción de la movilidad o de la fagocitosis en ninguna de las cepas ensayadas. Dado estos resultados, sería importante continuar con este tipo de estudios a fin de optimizar esquemas terapéuticos simples para el tratamiento en las infecciones no complicadas, disminuyendo las reacciones adversas que puedan algunas drogas ocasionar en el huésped.
