These findings may be related to a late change in the carcinogenesis process. The population analyzed was polymorphic showing 6 allelic forms (8–13) with heterozygosity rate of 0.33.

El Papanicolau es una de técnica incruenta que puede correlacionarse con el grado de organización y diferenciación tisular basándose en hallazgos fenotípicos. Este trabajo evalúa la relación entre la inestabilidad genómica de una secuencia minisatélite ubicada en la región 5q21–5q22 y las observaciones del Papanicolau en una población constituida por 69 mujeres. Para ello se amplificó la región minisatélite a partir de DNA proveniente de muestras para Papanicolau y se comparó con el proveniente de muestras sanguíneas. El análisis genómico comparativo reveló la presencia de una alteración compatible con la pérdida de una unidad de repetición en una muestra de carcinoma invasor de cuello uterino sin observarse cambios en muestras con lesiones premalignas. Este hallazgo podría indicar que las alteraciones genómicas en la región analizada son acontecimientos tardíos en la evolución tumoral. Se proponen los siguientes intervalos de referencia: sodio sérico (135–146 mMol/l), potasio sérico (3.4–5.0 mMol/l), sodio urinario (68–330 mMol/24 h) y potasio urinario (19–76 mMol/24 h). La población analizada fue polimórfica observándose 6 alelos (8–13) con una frecuencia de heterocigocidad de 0,33.
