Description
Summary:Knowing the environmental state of the watershed accurately and correctly is fundamental to guarantee their preservation and the quality of life of the populations. Georeferencing provides geographically defined data that represent the actual situation of the river to be studied. In this paper, the georeferencing of the Mumbuca River, located in the city of Monte Carmelo - MG, was performed based on the survey by geodetic methods. The cartographic construction of the Mumbuca Stream resulted in a location map of the stream, from the source to the mouth, crossing part of the rural and urban area of the city. In the urban area, it was observed that more incisive measures in relation to planning for stream conservation, such as protection of riparian forest, withdrawal of untreated sewage and solid waste from the riverside, should be put into practice, thus allowing the Mumbuca Stream continues to provide safe water for this population.
