Flexibility in labor relations; Competitiveness; Management; Small enterprises Flexibilidad en las relaciones laborales; Competitividad; Gestión; Pequeñas empresas In the current economic scene it is crucial to be competitive, but to continue being so is a mater of survival, be it for the enterprise as for the workers. In this context, this study deals with the evolution of flexibility in the labor relations, of the citizens, of the concepts and the typology of such relationships and of the influence of this flexibility in enterprises competitiveness. On the otherhand, it presents a diagnosis of such flexibility in small enterprises of a certain gaucho region.Such a diagnosis demonstrates the kind of adopted contracts, in which ways flexibility is used, and the interest / and lack of interest of these wishing flexibility in some functions. The methodology consists on the descriptive research of reality of a sample of the secondary and tertiary sectors of the aforementioned region, beyond being taken as a bibliographical research on the topic. Thedata have been gathered by means of a semi-structured questionnaire to those in charge of such enterprises. The results have been based on the qualitative analysis of the constant data in graphs and charts. The results show that these enterprises are still sufficiently subjected to the traditional forms of work relationships. En la escena económica actual ser competitivo es crucial, pero seguir siéndolo es una cuestión de supervivencia, tanto para la compañía como para los trabajadores. En este contexto, este estudio se ocupa de la evolución de la flexibilidad en las relaciones laborales, de los ciudadanos, de los conceptos y de la tipología de tales relaciones y de la influencia de esta flexibilidad en la competitividad de las compañías. Por otra parte, presenta un diagnóstico de tal flexibilidad en compañías pequeñas de una determinada región gaucha. Tal diagnóstico demuestra el tipo de contratos adoptados, de que maneras se utiliza la flexibilidad y el interés/desinterés de éstos en flexibilizar algunas funciones. La metodología consiste en la investigación descriptiva de la realidad de una muestra de los sectores secundarios y terciarios de la región mencionada, más allá de ser llevado como una investigación bibliográfica sobre el tema. Los datos han sido recogidos por medio de un cuestionario semi-estructurado a los encargados de tales empresas. Y los resultados han sido basados en el análisis cualitativo de los datos constantes en gráficos y tablas. Los resultados demuestran que estas compañías todavía se encuentran lo suficientemente sujetas a las formas tradicionales de relaciones de trabajo.
