The purpose of this article is to share the study developed in the doctoral thesis which proposed a new Model of Personal Strategic Alignment - MAEP - that goes through the identification of purposes, values and beliefs, dreams, future vision, goals and competencies, so that the individual assumes the protagonism of his career and life through the most conscious choices, guided by the reflection of the aspects that, integrated, allow the construction of an identity and the execution of relevant actions in search of a full realization of the individual purpose. This study shows how the model provided an improvement in the self-perception, career planning and development of strategic thinking of the sample investigated and contributed to the development of the competencies of professionals in strategic positions in the Human Resources area, considering the challenges of the current scenario and the trends of this function in the future of work. El objetivo de este artículo es compartir el estudio llevado a cabo en la tesis de doctorado que propuso un nuevo Modelo de Alineamiento Estratégico Personal – MAEP – que pasa por la identificación de propósitos, valores y creencias, sueños, visión de futuro, objetivos y competencias para que el individuo asuma el protagonismo de su carrera y de su vida mediante las elecciones más conscientes pautadas en la reflexión de los aspectos que, integrados, permitan la construcción de una identidad y la ejecución de acciones pertinentes en busca de una plena realización del propósito individual. Este estudio demuestra cómo el modelo proporciona una mejora en la percepción de sí mismos, del planeamiento de la carrera y del desarrollo del pensamiento estratégico de la muestra investigada y contribuye con el desarrollo de las competencias de los profesionales en posiciones estratégicas en el área de Recursos Humanos, considerando los desafíos del actual escenario y las tendencias de esta función en el futuro del trabajo.
